The XML stays inside the PDF
The result is a hybrid invoice: a PDF/A-3 document that carries your original XML file as an attachment. People read the pages, accounting software reads the attachment, and both travel in a single file.

The invoice is rendered, not edited. Amounts, tax rates and totals on the pages come straight from your XML, and the embedded XML is a byte for byte copy of the file you uploaded.

How can I convert an XML e-invoice into a PDF?

Which e-invoice formats are supported?
Every invoice that follows the European standard EN 16931 in one of its two XML syntaxes. CII is used by ZUGFeRD, by Factur-X and by the CII profile of XRechnung. UBL is used by the UBL profile of XRechnung and by Peppol BIS Billing. XML files that are not an invoice in one of these two syntaxes are rejected in your browser before anything is uploaded.
Is the invoice data still machine readable afterwards?
Yes. The result is a PDF/A-3 document that carries the readable pages and the machine readable XML in one file. Your original XML is embedded unchanged, so a recipient who needs the structured data gets exactly the data that was sent to you.
Why is my XML file rejected?
Before anything is uploaded, the tool checks in your browser whether the file really is an invoice in UBL or CII syntax. Order confirmations, delivery notes, XML exports from other programs and damaged files do not pass that check. If you are sure your file is an e-invoice, check whether it is complete and whether its root element still carries the namespace of the format.
What happens to my invoice data?
Your file is transferred over an encrypted connection, converted on our servers and removed again after a short time. The invoice data is not analysed, not stored and not passed on to anybody.
