Everything in one report

Version, document information, page sizes, security, forms, bookmarks, attachments, layers, text, fonts and images – for every PDF you add.

Page sizes in mm and inches

Every page size is shown in millimetres and inches, with the paper format such as A4 or Letter and the orientation – also when the pages differ.

Fonts and images

See which fonts are used and whether they are embedded, and which images the PDF contains, with their size in pixels, compression and colours.

Scans recognised

The report shows the pages without text. They are usually scans or pictures of text – OCR makes them searchable.

Your files stay with you

Files from your computer are read in your browser and are not uploaded to our servers. The PDF is not changed.

Copy or save the report

Copy the report to the clipboard or save it as a text file – for example for a print shop, a support request or your records.

Questions and Answers

How can I see the properties of a PDF?

Choose your PDF. PDF24 reads it right away and shows all information in a report below the file box.

How do I find out the page size of a PDF?

Choose the PDF. Under «Page sizes» the report shows the size of the pages in millimetres and inches, with the paper format such as A4 and the orientation.

How can I check whether the fonts are embedded?

The section «Fonts» lists every font with its type and whether it is fully embedded, embedded as a subset or not embedded. Print shops usually need embedded fonts.

How do I know whether a PDF is a scan?

If the report lists pages under «Pages without text», those pages contain no text, only pictures – typically scans. OCR makes them searchable.

Can I see whether a PDF is protected?

Yes. Under «Security» you see whether the PDF is encrypted, whether it needs a password to open and what is not allowed, such as printing or copying.

Is my PDF changed or uploaded?

No. The PDF is only read, not changed. Files from your computer are read in your browser and are not uploaded.

Is it free?

Yes. PDF info is free, without registration and without limits.
